I’m gonna be open with my kids about money.  Probably not throwing around income numbers or savings amounts, but my methods of saving, spending, how and why I decide WHEN to spend, the problems I’ve had in the past with money…

Making money a taboo topic is why we have the economy we do right now.  Parents don’t wanna talk about finances with their kids because it’s awkward or inappropriate or whatever, and the schools do absolutely NOTHING to teach kids about money.  If I don’t talk to my kids about money, who will?  No one.  And then they’ll get into debt like everyone else, be broke like everyone else, and live paycheck-to-paycheck like 42% of Americans (according to an article by the New York Times).

No. I’m going to teach my kids about money, and they’re going to work, save and invest their way into the 1%.
